Unbound: A Gospel that breaks barriers (Circuit Easter Offering service)
Jesus talks about God's Kingdom as a place of release from captivity. The stories in this year's Easter Offering service tell of different ways that this is coming true. People across the world might be trapped in many ways - by poverty, by violence, by the actions of others or of their own past. Sometimes the things that bind us are deep in our own hearts. Through Bible Study, worship, art and story, the Easter Offering service help us to think about God's Good News of freedom. There is inspiration in the stories of others and prayer for all those still struggling for liberation.
For over 100 years, the Easter Offering service has been a key fundraiser for the Methodist Church's World Mission Fund - a response to the Easter celebratino of the new life of the resurrection. This year's service has been written by Methodist Women in Britain, and will be led by members of churches across the circuit and hosted at Ledgers Road Methodist Church at 3pm on the 26th of April.
